Artist Spotlight :: Ann's Dolls & Crafts

Ann started making her Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls 30 years ago when her children were small and she was looking for a way to make some extra income. Ann hoped to make enough to surprise her kids at Christmas with a VCR, a new luxury technology at the time. Well, Ann went to work sewing hundreds of dolls and, on Christmas morning, watched the delight on her kid's faces as they opened their new VCR! It's one of her favourite Christmas memories.
Today, Ann is still making the dolls in 3 different sizes and the iconic childhood toy has come to life again for a new generation! Check them out here!

Artist Spotlight :: Lynn's Unique Jewellery

One of the latest additions to Kazio is Lynn's Unique Jewellery. Four years ago, Lynn took a jewellery making class and fell in love with the creative process. She loves dreaming up one of a kind pieces of jewellery, all made with high quality materials. With a large selection of jewellery on Kazio, I'm sure you'll find something to like!
Lynn's lariat necklaces (above), which don't have a clasp but instead are a long strand that ties in front, are something I had never seen before. Check out a few more of my personal favourites below and then head over to Kazio to find your favourites!

Artist Spotlight :: Green Jean Designs

Kazio is pleased to welcome Green Jean Designs to our site! Green Jean Designs are the creations of two sisters from the Fraser Valley who believe in "saving the world one old pair of jeans at a time"! Having done handiwork from an early age, these two women have now combined their lifelong love of sewing with a desire to be environmentally friendly. Using donated jeans, they create unique, quality handmade products that include clothing, toys, and home decor. All of the items are made with gently used denim and 100% cotton fabric. Nothing is wasted with even the leftover denim scraps being used for stuffing, making these blue jeans very green!

Take a look at Green Jean Designs now available on www.kazio.ca.

Community Events :: Portobello West Fashion & Art Market

It's been a while since the abundance of craft fairs that took place during the Christmas season. So, if you are wanting to do a little shopping in a fun market atmosphere you may want to check out the Portobello West market. It takes place the last Sunday of every month - June 27th is the next one - in Vancouver at the Rocky Mountaineer Station. Check out artwork, clothing, jewellery, and accessories from 110 local artists and crafters. Admission is $2 (free for children under 12) and it's open from 12pm - 6pm. Check out this video from their site to get a flavour of the market.

I always seem to find out about craft fairs just after they've happened! A great website to make sure that never happens again is the BC Craft Fairs Calendar that lists (you guessed it) craft fairs in BC. It's a great resource for those wanting to enter craft fairs or simply attend and shop, shop, shop!

If you know of any craft fairs happening around BC or have been to the Portobello West market, leave a comment below and tell us about it!

Artist Spotlight :: Sentimental Bliss

Many of us love the look of handcrafted scrapbooks but don't have either the creativity or the time needed to acheive them. So, if you're still working on an album of your family vacation to Disneyland...that you went on in 2001, then maybe pre-made scrapbooks are for you!

Kazio is excited to have local Abbotsford scrapbooker
Sentimental Bliss join our site! She has a passion for creating unique scrapbooking layouts & complete albums and spends any spare time she has planning, cutting, stamping, tearing, tying and gluing.

Just add pictures to any of her canvases, framed art, or complete albums and preserve your memories. It doesn't get any easier than this!

Check out all of Sentimental Bliss's products on
www.kazio.ca. For custom orders, send us a message at info@kazio.ca.

We are always taking submissions for new sellers! If you have a great product and would like to be featured on our website, please check out our Seller Information on the site. We will accept goods in the categories of art, jewelery, ceramics, crochet & knitting, furniture, housewares, and papergoods to just name a few.

This blog is where we'll be posting updates on new items available on our online market, profiling great local talent, telling you about events in our communities, or just stopping in to share a little bit of what we're up to.
