Artist Spotlight :: Green Jean Designs

Kazio is pleased to welcome Green Jean Designs to our site! Green Jean Designs are the creations of two sisters from the Fraser Valley who believe in "saving the world one old pair of jeans at a time"! Having done handiwork from an early age, these two women have now combined their lifelong love of sewing with a desire to be environmentally friendly. Using donated jeans, they create unique, quality handmade products that include clothing, toys, and home decor. All of the items are made with gently used denim and 100% cotton fabric. Nothing is wasted with even the leftover denim scraps being used for stuffing, making these blue jeans very green!

Take a look at Green Jean Designs now available on www.kazio.ca.

Community Events :: Portobello West Fashion & Art Market

It's been a while since the abundance of craft fairs that took place during the Christmas season. So, if you are wanting to do a little shopping in a fun market atmosphere you may want to check out the Portobello West market. It takes place the last Sunday of every month - June 27th is the next one - in Vancouver at the Rocky Mountaineer Station. Check out artwork, clothing, jewellery, and accessories from 110 local artists and crafters. Admission is $2 (free for children under 12) and it's open from 12pm - 6pm. Check out this video from their site to get a flavour of the market.

I always seem to find out about craft fairs just after they've happened! A great website to make sure that never happens again is the BC Craft Fairs Calendar that lists (you guessed it) craft fairs in BC. It's a great resource for those wanting to enter craft fairs or simply attend and shop, shop, shop!

If you know of any craft fairs happening around BC or have been to the Portobello West market, leave a comment below and tell us about it!
